Any recommendations? Thinking Saskatchewan. Focused on quality over price.

Have researched Swift River Outfitters and they look legit but would love any first hand accounts.

I hunt with RedLeg outfitters each end of September early October they are 1 hour north east of Edmonton Alberta and it has been lights out each year we go. Great guys, great setup and amazing food.

They also have outfit in North Texas during our waterfowl season so its nice hunting with guys we know personally.

A family friend of mine will be guiding in Saskatchewan for Widgeon Waterfowl this fall. He is fired up, looks like a great outfitter. I am hoping to make a trip up there myself!

Not Saskatchewan but went to Alberta last year if you want something to compare to. Four 'good' hunts and one hunt of a lifetime. A farmer called the outfitter with "we just cut barley. Can you keep the birds roosting on the lake across from us out of our fields?" Combo of ducks and geese.

Nice. Reached out to him. My crew is looking to get up to Canada in 2026.

Know the biggest differences between hunting Alberta vs Saskatchewan?

Pintail in Garwood. They hunt Canada every fall. Lance Stancik runs that first class outfit and is an Ag.

This - I go every year. I have an affiliation with Pintail but regardless I've hunted everywhere and this is good for Canada. Lots of good spots up north, and great outfitters to check out - so can't say one verses the other - Pintail supports A&M also as bonus.

I hunted with Travis and NPO in 2017. Had a great time! Travis and his crew work hard and do a great job. After looking at his website, they have upgraded their lodge (it needed it LOL).

1st hunt was ducks in a pea field. Our limit of 48 mallards and pintails in 75 minutes. World class hunt. Had a couple of other really nice hunts and finished with the last morning with a really nice goose hunt - 55 geese in the decoys. Limits of specks with a lot of snows. If there had been any kind of wind at all, we could have killed snows until we ran out of shells!

Travis does a great job. As far as Alberta vs Sasketchewan..... Not sure the difference. I will tell you this..... If you love waterfowl hunting, go to Canada at least once! Wonderful week. Love the fact that you can have the place to yourself with a party of 6 (at least that is the way it was in 2017). We talked a lot of football.

Also - we went Sept 13-15. If I were able, I would have gone a bit later. It was a bit warm in the afternoon. I also like shooting ducks in full plumage. I have friends who have been in early October and they ended up dealing with some pretty cold weather. The specks in that area of Alberta are incredible! Saw more "barred up" specks there than anywhere else I have ever been.

Have fun!

Travis has some incredible territory in Alberta, his original lodge was right on the Alberta/ Saskatchewan line. New one is a bit more NE of it. I have hunted with him several times and every hunt has been world class. I have hunted early September and Late October and they were all good. The geese are the main attraction but ducks in a pea field are about as fun as it gets.

I was last up there in '09, but from what I remember its some areas have more specs vs canadas vs snows. So you want to know what you want to shoot more of and then go to that area. He'll be able to answer way more than I can.

Hunted with Saskatoon Waterfowl a few times and they are a good outfitter. One of the owners is even from College Station area. Depending on when you go in the season you will shoot tons of Geese (snows, blues and specs), Canada Geese, Sandhill Cranes, and lots of Ducks. They pick you up at airport, take care of license, provide food and lodging, bird cleaning and packaging, shells, and can even do gun rentals to make travel easier. Earlier is season yield more options and is not as cold. We did late October a year ago and it was frigid and it was only Ducks and Canada Geese and the rest had migrated south but that was last week of the season. Went September other times and it was a lot more variety.

Dang, I forgot about Ward. If my memory is correct, Travis first started out guiding for Ward in Canada.

Red Leg Outfitters has an Alberta operation. Bryan Glass is based in Paris, Tx and has hunting operation in NE Texas as well. Great guy and I'd highly recommend.

His Facebook page was active. I checked that before posting. He's got recent hunt photos. So it looks like he's still at it.

Frontline is active! His guides also run Sea to Sky outfitters up here in the Texas panhandle who many on the board here have hunted with. I've never been to Canada with them but experiencing Orin and Colby work in a flock of birds together is a sight to see (and hear).
