Nightforce NX8, Eotech Vudu or Vortex Razor

I used my Model 70 26" in 7mm Mag with a VX3 scope. I have a SloGlo hog light on my feeder. Really no need to do more than that unless you just want an excuse to spend money. If so, that's cool. Go for it. If you don't, this setup will let you get the job done.
No suppressor needed. Worried about hearing? Amazon has Howard Leigh earplugs…20 bucks will get you 20 pairs. I think I still have half a box from 15 years ago when I bought them.

Based on the replies, I'm on the fence about a suppressor, but I understand the benefits. What red dot plus magnifier or "all in one" optic do you all recommend for this?
1-6x LPVO scope with a red dot reticle is a jack of all trades optic (for daylight hunting or hunting where you have a light)
Do you have any recommendations on a quality LPVO? Let's go with $2000 or less on the optic budget.
Listen to his message. I just went to the 77Ranch and finally had to get hearing aids after years of hunting/shooting (other than sightings in). My Dr. of Audiology said that every time I wore eye protection I should have worn ear protection. If you can't get an effective suppressor please get effective ear protection.Gunny456 said:
Go through the trouble to get the suppressor. Save your hearing. You will appreciate that you did as you age.

I was just trying to encourage you to protect your hearing. I have absolutely no experience with a suppressor so just shoot away without ear protection and see where your hearing is when you get to the 77Ranch.Thunderstruck xx said:Texarkanaag69 said:Listen to his message. Ok, questions:
1. Does a suppressor completely eliminate the need for hearing protection?
2. If so, do I need to use subsonic ammo to avoid needing hearing protection with a suppressor?
3. Do I need to use subsonic ammo to avoid damaging a suppressor?

1) Depends on the situation and how many times you shoot. For hunting I would say you do not need hearing protection with a suppressor. Target shooting or shooting a lot I still wear it. I typically hunt with supersonic ammo, suppressor, and no hearing protection.
2)Subsonic ammo does make it substantially quieter. But limits your range and energy on target. Most bullets do not expand well sub sonic. You need to buy subsonic expanding ammo. Typically: 300BLK, 308, or 8.6Blk
3)Most suppressors do not require subsonic ammo. Typically only pistol suppressors have ratings if shooting a rifle round.
There is a wealth of knowledge on here and thousands of suppressors owned by TEXAGS members. PewScience is the best resource online.

I have a few
I have a cheap AR with a red dot and a green light for illumination. This one rides on the can am with me. Gun + red dot + green light in sum was just under $500 new…but it works good!
Then I have a nice AR with a good scope. Fancy green light from elusive wildlife. Red laser on the barrel. I've had this one the longest. It's for sitting in the stand or spot/stalk. I have night vision binoculars or thermal monocular for spotting.
Then there's a browning .308 BAR with a pulsar thermal scope. I talked about thermal for a long time but never wanted to pay for it. So my dad bought this set up and put it in the safe. He said he probably won't use it and I can consider it an inheritance gift but can use anytime. It's been sitting in safe for 2 years, untouched lol
This is a surprisingly good product. Night vision binoculars for $100. https://militarymentalendurance.com/products/trailblazer%e2%84%a2-pro-1080p-night-vision-binoculars
Thanks I just bought one!

I agree it looked shady but I texted you a video of how well it works.
Unless it's a well trusted vendor (Walmart, Amazon, etc.), I only buy from sites that use PayPal or Apple Pay and use those are my method of payment. Might not be any better but it makes me feel better at least! I have received a refund from PayPal before on a product that was never delivered.
I can text the sample video from the night vision to anyone that wants it. Just PM me a phone number

I think I've decided on the trijicon credo hx. Can someone help me with how to choose the height of the scope rings? I see 1.54 inch height, 1.6 inch height, or 1.93 inch height typically. Is there an ideal hieght for running an LPVO? All of those heights would be compatible with the trijicon credo.
