Not sure about posting this, but got this off social media if interested. I lived on Fort Clark back in the 50's and it was a great place to live at the time.

Anyone interested in hunting on Fort Clark, we have a tremendous number of deer and need to thin them out. The cost of hunt is $200 a day and that gives you two Axis does. Bucks are charged by the antler size. We have lots of feeders and openings for hunting. If you are interested, call the administrative office at the fort and book your hunt. We will be glad to help you get your deer. We do have some books that need to be culled, and they are priced the same as does right now. We will identify the books that need to be culled. We also have a lot of hogs and male turkeys on Fort Clark that are eligible to be taken. Come and hunt Fort Clark. To schedule a hunt call 830-563-2493.

My dad was in the 5th Cav there. 1937-1941. Cool place.

My aunt and uncle lived there for 30+ years during retirement.

That place is crawling with deer.

Live there from 1956 to 60 when it was operated as a guest ranch by Brown and Root. As a kid I had the run of the place from swimming to horseback riding. Was there when they filmed the Alamo and Two Road Together which I got to be an extra in.

Not crazy about what it has turned into with the trailer park and such.

Grew up in Del Rio & did some two legged deer hunting on the fort myself in the early 2000's. They were always in heat and lots of rut activity.

Sitting in the blind on our last sit now. Defiantly not a place for a first hunt if you want a lot of action. Between our 2 groups we saw one mature doe with twin yearlings. Nothing hit the ground all day today with most groups not seeing a thing.

The guy who runs the hunts told me that they have killed 20 deer in the first few weeks of the season. I think these deer are feeder shy from getting shot at every weekend.

Why not shoot the doe with fawns? They are certainly old enough to fend for themselves.

I tried. The deer are so feeder skittish that they only stopped by for a few seconds and then left. We did not spook them. They want no business around a feeder out there

This is pretty similar to other reviews I found when looking into it a few years ago. It sounds like a really awesome opportunity, but hard to find anyone that actually has much good to say about it.
