Buying an older inboard boat from a family friend. What paperwork do I need?
For the boat:
- PWD143 (title and registration)
- Brown title or ?

For the trailer:
- 130-U
- manufacturers cert or registration
- title (if available; not required for <4k lbs)

Overall bill of sale (or separate them?)

Appreciate it!

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

1993 Correct Craft... nothing fancy but something to have some fun on the water with.

Looks like you have it covered.

They want the bill of sale in addition to the title(s). One bill of sale can list both items.

Congrats on the new boat. It should throw a nice flat wake for skiing!

We loved our boat but we also lived 5 minutes from the boat launch and could park it at our house. Enjoy it!

Break Out Another Thousand = BOAT.

In my case, my FIL gifted me a boat, I never used it (don't have that background), I tried to give it back to him, he paid me for it instead and wouldn't take no for an answer. Therefore, I did not have to break out another thousand.

Bill of sale for boat and trailer. Probably doesn't matter but I have just done them separate.

Boat title. PWD 143. This will be registered with TPWD.

Trailer title if it has one, if not then previous registration showing weight under 4k is key. 130 u form. This will be registered with county.

Ford 351

We never really considered buying a boat (especially because of the B.O.A.T.) but a good offer presented itself (on a boat that I have some experience with).

My dad owned one for a decade. He said never again, and is part of boating clubs where he pays around $300 a month and can rent a boat once a week.

He's never been happier on the water

Nice. Motor is solid and easy to maintain.

It has been my experience in many years of the marine business that many folks who have had bad experiences with owning boats is because they initially purchase poor quality products due to price or buy someone else's boat problems who also purchased a poor quality boat. Or they abused the boat and/ or did no annual maintenance on it.

Don't listen to all the mechanically weak and lazy here. Make great memories, come home, grab a six pack and enjoy the time outside properly cleaning and preserving your vessel. I would imagine these people also hate cutting grass.

My thoughts exactly. My dad's old Mustang also has a 351.

I can work with a solid product that doesn't have all the fancy bells & whistles. Not afraid to get my hands dirty either. It's something the rib and I feel like would make lasting memories while we still have our kids around.

Appreciate the advice on everything. Anyone have a good bill of sale template for the boat and/or trailer?

Just going to add that your engine in the 1993 Correct Craft is a PCM (PleasureCraft Engine Group) 351 that was based upon the Ford 351W engine. PCM bought the engines from Ford then modified them for marine applications with carbs, exhaust manifolds, ignition systems, alternators and tuning for the particular marine applications.
PCM still is in business and supplies marine power plants to CorrectCraft boat companies, MasterCraft, Nautique, Ski Centurion etc.
Believe they listed that engine at around 250HP or so.

Aggie owned
1999 Ski Nautique in Houston for $9,500

Correct Craft bought PCM and Crusader engine companies. 2014.

Nothing better than a straight inboard.

I have found these guys and gals extremely helpful, knowledgeable and reasonable priced.
