You still hunting Thunderbird? Our spot near Markham is vastly different this year - 30 acres of millet instead of 200 acres of rice. Been predictably slower.... just hoping the birds show up eventually.
Got a 1 man limit on Saturday with my two boys in tow. Spoonies, gadwall and whistlers. First time seeing the whistlers down there. Overall very slow, only managed a limit due to some uncharacteristicly good shooting (triple and a double).
That pic has a Black-Belly Whistling duck so assume it's those. I did see about 10-12 Fulvous whistling ducks on Saturday. They're still down here too, which is pretty rare (this time of year).
