Here they are not taxing shipping containers - yet - but I'd guess that once that roof is attached, it would be a more permanent structure & taxable in their eyes.

I get taxed for a carport and this doesn't seem much different

Caldwell county taxed me for an extra building this year that they said was because the lean to roof that has been on the side of a small storage shed for 8 years now counts as another building. Fighting it but having a lot of luck. That fancy a "roof" would probably appraise at 4 times your normal value here at this rate.

I had a neighbor with a smaller version of this on the side of their house, it was noted on the property taxes. He tore it down instead of paying what they wanted in taxes for it.

I got assessed $500 in value for our container.

Interesting. I didn't realize non permanent containers would be taxed. This will be in Atascosa County.
