I went to fire up my generator sunday afternoon to make sure everything was fine and it wouldnt start. I've always turned the generator off by closing the gas valve from the tank and letting carb run dry. I spent way more time than needed pulling the carb off checking for problems until i opened the tank valve and realized it was just dripping into the line. I removed the line valve and found it clogged with that amber colored jelly like gunk (guessing ethanol). I blew it out with the air compressor and squirted some carb cleaner in it. Made sure the air blew through strong then reinstalled. The generator started on the second pull. I ordered a 2 pack of back up shutoff valves from amazon for $6.99 in case it happens again the valve can be quickly swapped out to minimize downtime.
