#1 - great trout! Well done!!!

#2 - IGHLY recommend getting a replica instead of a skin mount.

I got a replica of a King Salmon from American Fish Taxidermy, and they did a great job. 15 years and 3 moves later, it still looks like the day I got it. I sent measurements and photos. The artist called and chatted with me about what special things stood out to me about the fish, and included all of the little details that we talked bout.

Glad you found some relatively calm and clear water today. It was whitecappimg today in the Upper Laguna.

John Glenn is widely considered the best in Corpus, but be prepared to wait close to 2 years. A fiberglass replica will be less expensive, faster, and will look much better than a skin mount.

Def avoid trophy masters. Had a lot of people lose deposits and lose their fish due to them. John Glenn is the name I hear over and over.

He did mine. Skin mount, he and did a very good job. It was 16-18 months 20 years ago. What's another 6 months?

I say that jokingly, but life tends to take over and it wasn't that I forgot about it, but when I got the call that it was ready, it was like getting a telegram that a "major award" was coming in a box marked fra-gi-le'. An indescribably beautiful piece of foam, wood, and skin, with no lampshade or plug.
"Green" is the new RED.

That's funny as heck. We watch that movie every year at Christmas. Never gets old.

This wasn't my trout. I'm trying to help one of my old Aggie roommates find a good taxidermist.
I have used John Glenn in the past. I have one on my wall that's twenty years old and still looks excellent!
I was mainly wondering if there might be a couple up and coming taxidermist I didn't know about in the area.

Checkout New Wave Taxidermy in Florida. Their replica mounts are awesome. They match the color and spot patterns you provide via pictures.

They mount a lot of fish for Texas fisherman.
