The population of bald eagles has quadrupled over the past decade, so yes they are doing well.
That nest has been there for many years. They were likely refurbishing it. A new male came on the scene a few years ago and they built and used a second nest further back in the woods but came back to this one a couple of years ago. That area has an iron fence around it due to the nest being there. They would really like to develop this but can't. I started photographing these eagles back in 2016.Bregxit said:
