Any thoughts on Garmin Mini2 vs Garmin Messenger?

Not exactly a BF deal, but if you are interested in a Volquartsen they have a few Scorpions on clearance. The Scorpion is based on a MK III design, using an aluminum frame, rather than a Black Mamba which uses a Ruger polymer 22/45 frame.

I have a larger (older) in reach. Size doesn't bother me. It can connect to your phone so you can use the keyboard on phone to type, if need be.

Mine has 4 or 5 messages you can load prior to the trip to save time (on the trail, in camp for the day, etc). The breadcrumb trail, weather, topo map are pretty handy. The pushbutton emerg signal is really the "get out of jail" card.

This is the the only unit I have used so I don't have any comparison help. But mine was easy enough to use the emerg feature that I felt my 10 yr old could've gotten help alone should something happen.
