OP shoot the $*#% deer this weekend.

Montoya makes a good case…. but I've looked at thousands of deer as well over the years as well and am stubborn and think I'm right in this one. I'll happily come back and eat crow if need be.

Buck is either old or sick and either way needs killing so no bad outcome.

I think I figured out that deer … it's a spy robot deer being used by the National game wardens spy deer program to see if your the guy spreading around that white tail brain wasting disease … if you shoot it, it may blow up and burn your fields down.. I would be cautious

Would definitely say same deer. Same white throat patch, white "socks" on bottom half of legs and horns look similar looking straight at you.

Looks middle aged in those pics to me.

That's an old ass deer. And in the chance that it is actually a younger deer with something going on…….

Not sure how good his meat would be.



Edit to add…. Just saw the pics from last year. Pretty certain that's the same deer.

I've never seen an old buck with horrible body condition improve his antlers over prior year when he was in decent shape. I'd say something happened to that deer in the last several months. Hopefully he's harvested and we might find out.

Looks either very old or sick. I would shoot him and then look at his teeth. If he isn't very old based on worn down teeth and doesn't have any other obvious wounds or injuries when you get him down, take him to a TPWD checkpoint to be tested for CWD.

Sorry, but that deer does NOT have the confirmation of an "old" (5 1/2+ year old deer), nor the typical mass of a mature Buck either. You'd be in a better position to speculate as to why his body condition isn't normal, but I'd be willing to bet it's not because his teeth are worn out…
