If you scroll through the pics you'll see one where there's several other elk racks in the background. And they aren't much smaller.

That area has outrageous bulls. And it looks very little like what the average person would expect elk country to look like. I honestly think the heavy cattle operations over there help.
Well, keep in mind, Elk were plains animals way back when. They moved into the mountains due to human encroachment.
