Actually, no - I ended up in the ER last week for a bacterial illness (they believe maybe E. Coli or Salmonella). Been on a cocktail of prescriptions, and was on bed rest through Saturday. Still not feeling well, and going back to the doctor today to see whats up, as I just took my last antibiotic.

On top of that, and more concerning, the tribal chairman of the tribe t which I work resigned on Friday - I found out Monday, and the acting chair does not like me at all, simply because I replaced her brother as the head of marketing here. After the last election, she asked me to resign; the chairman that just resigned was the person who cast the deciding vote keeping me around.

So, not only am I sick, I am dealing with tribal politics, and the entire casino is walking on eggshells due to the way everything went down. It is extremely possible that after today I will be unemployed, as everyone has the sense that there are going to be some 'changes' and they all believe there is a good chance they could happen today.

So, I guess I'll update everyone on that as well. If it happens, I guess the silver lining is more time (but less money) to work on the boat.

Not a whole lot to report today, other than the fact that I am even more confident I will be getting walked this week. Not going to go into it, but lots of signs pointing to it.

To the person making the statement about it really sucking if your doing your job; it really does, as I have been doing the GM's job as well, since he doesn't know he is doing - worst casino GM I've ever seen. But, in a tribal casino, competency rarely matters, what political side you are on does. And even though I have stayed as neutral as possible, I have somehow made an enemy here, even though when tribal members need something, or have a question, they come to me and not him.

As an extra punch to the gut, when I went to the doctor again today (because of sudden waves of nausea and vomiting) I was told that on the CT scan from last week, they found a mass in my abdomen, about 1.1cm. So now, I have to worry about that until I can get that checked out, along with some other minor things. So that's fun too.

I'll keep updating as I have anything to update.

Dang, this is a pretty good idea. You keep benefits until you are well, keep getting paid and just maybe the **** storm blows over before you get back.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. We were just informed that there would be no one else being let go; so I at least as far as that goes, I can breathe easier (but still less time to work on the boat). Evidently there were more than a few tribal members that approached the tribal council on my behalf.

Did a FULL lab workup tis morning, should have some results by tomorrow, so fingers crossed those are good too.

If I'm feeling better, I want to go to the boat next weekend, but I'm unsure at this point if that will happen. I'll keep everyone updated.

So apparently I spoke too soon. After being told this morning that no one was being let go, I was walked out this afternoon, after all.

F that. Don't casino much these days but I'll make sure it ain't there again

Ok, so I'm alive and kicking.

First on the health part - Every single lab result that I am getting has come back the best I have had in at least 15 years (I am 47). The nodule detected appears benign, we will be keeping an eye on it, and having another scan in 6 months, but no immediate cause for concern. That said, still have random nausea as well as major stomach issues, buy no blood or anything. Doc thinks at this point it may be stress, which is certainly a possibility.

On the job front, I am now out there applying like mad, reaching out to contacts and headhunters, and just generally trying to figure out what there is available. I am most heavily looking on Louisiana and the regions around Houston, but open to other areas as well. I DO have a meeting with some of my connections in Houston tomorrow that are VERY connected, and sounds promising that they may be able to help. Here's hoping.

As far as the boat... MAYBE this weekend; it all depends on the attorney's take on the severance agreement, and what I may have to do or not do to take care of all that type of stuff, as well as if I am feeling up to it. I'm trying to slow down a touch and heal, as I can, since I am doing the job hunting thing.

If I get down there, I will let everyone know.

Not sure your location or timing in Houston, but we have a guest bed you can crash on Tuesday night if needed.

Charters would be way in the future, if ever (retirement time, etc.).

Right now, I am working out some severance details, etc. Was in Houston meeting with some pretty powerful folks yesterday talking about some opportunities. I also am still not feeling well, so im not sure how much I would get done.

I was hoping to go down this weekend, but unless I see a major change in how I feel, that is unlikely to happen. I do think that in 2 weeks that even I could get it running, and that has been a thought of mine as well.

Hopefully soon enough, I can get back down there.
