Academy's clearance items just went to an additional 75% off marked price. Probably worth a trip to your local store to see what they have. You might get a steal on some stuff.

I grabbed some bt18 stealth cams for $8 and some breathable waders marked down from $200 to $37.

Grabbed some kids clothes including an aggie sweatshirt for $4.

As a shareholder, this isn't cool…

This is when I go to Academy and buy every t-shirt in my size, I don't care what is on it. For 3-4 bucks each I walk out of there and I'm set for the year with throw away shirts.

These are the kinds of deals they used to have that they stopped which caused me to stop shopping there. Pretty much everything else, if I am buying full price, can be had online, and free shipping, and some little dude in a truck brings it to my gate. Hard to beat that. For 75% off and a handful of shirts for a buck a piece, I could be enticed to drive by one. Those are great work shirts.

They've done this the last several years. I don't think they're hurting, they just need to purge some inventory. Last year I got over $1000 worth of stuff for under $200.

Today I got two pairs of shoes for $15 each (down from $100), two fishing rods for $13 each (normally $60-70 each), several shirts and hats for $3-$5. It won't last long though, most of the stores are pretty picked over.

Different stores have different things on clearance. I got some $50 gun cases for $8 that weren't on sale at others, 12v feeder motor, box, and timer for $17 ($94 everywhere else), $500 drake waders for $150. So if you have multiple stores nearby, check them out.

Acad used to routinely have epic clearance sales like this after the new year. Kinda slowed down during covid. And has since cranked up a bit. As mentioned above, inventory varies by store.

My 14 yo son is constantly destroying his shoes. So I just picked up 3 pair for about $70. Maybe we can make it to summer before I have to buy more.

You just look at the tag and take off 75%

There are scanners if you can't do math.

should have a yellow tag and are in sections with a clearance sign.......just have to keep an eye when they ring it up b/c not everything scanned correctly.

Always look close in the racks. It's not unusual to have a mistag on a full price item. I've found 100 dollar rods for 15 bucks before. It's rare but the mistake does happen around clearance time. Sometimes they mismark it and then just put it back in the rack.

My local Academy uses bright green price tags with the clearance price, then you take 75% off of that

Usually great deal on muck boots and cheap snake boots if any left in your size. I am going to hit a local store on my way to lunch.

Just snagged a pair of Lacrosse Alpha Lite hunting/waterproof boots for $18. Originally $120, clearance price $72…$18 with the additional 75% off. Don't really need them but for $18 my Magellan equivalent boots that I paid more for can now be a backup pair.

Well, I know where I'm going at lunch today....

On sale for $30. There aren't any more on the clearance rack but there are a bunch in the lifejacket aisle. You can check the price on the price check screen to verify even though they aren't marked clearnace.

heard from store manager that they had hard kayaks earlier for ~$70
saw some H20 express and other rods on clearance for less than $5-$10. Casting and spinning. One I recall was olive in color. Don't need additional cheap rods, so steered clear.
Didn't find different Lacrosse or Muck brand boots than I already had, so no upgrade for me.

Overall, I was happy with the deals I found. I wish I would have located about 12-24 more of those pink skitterwalks, but it is what it is when raiding clearance bins.

There was a jon boat trailer in Garland marked down from $1599 to like $300.

Your experience sounds similar to mine, my receipt is like 8 feet long!

mine had nothing other than all the long sleeve magellan winter clothing that i already got back in december.

maybe i didnt look hard enough.

The one in Tomball just had a big empty section of shelves where the clearance shoes had been. Lots of other clothes on sale. Nothing noteworthy in the gun section.

CS didn't have anything. A few racks of some clothes well picked through. I thought I found a matching camo long sleeve/pant combo but they were just in the wrong spot.

Pretty much the only shoes left were track spikes and a couple of pairs of small cheer shoes.

i passed on a pair of snake boots that would have been 17....they were so uncomfortable i felt like id never wear them.

I will point out that it is odd that all the camo is not on clearance presently. In years past, all of it was on clearance. I scanned 3 or 4 pairs of pants yesterday that came to full price and put them back on the shelf. Usually with this sale, I replace/augment whatever el cheapo camo bit the dust in the past year, like the lightweight ripstop stuff I like to use dove hunting.

One year I came out with 3 pants, 3 shirts, a drake vest, drake fleece pullover, and fleece lined realtree pants for maybe $50 total. It was glorious.

Same here for three stores in SA. Saw some muck boots but decided mine were still good enough and even with the sale it's still too damn much. I've finally gotten to the age.

Hit the sale, outfitted my 17yr old in Aggie athletic shirts and he likes them for Quarters on the dollar.
