I wanted a leupold until I read the long distance shooting forum in Rokslide. The badass snipers there don't rate them very high due to poor tracking when making adjustments. Glass is fine but internals often get overlooked when choosing a scope. I want a scope that I can rely on adjustments being accurate.
Anyway if anyone wants to see check out the long distance forum and stickied at top is scope reviews.

If you go the used route with Leos, confirm the serial number with Leupold prior to purchase.
Counterfeiting is an issue.

The adjustments work just fine out to 600 yards.
I don't doubt long distance shooters/snipers don't rate the Leupold that high… it's a hunting scope company first that migrated into long range stuff. I'd much rather have to compromise on some of the longer range adjustments and still be able to see earlier and have better clarity on my scope.
99% of my shots are going to be under 600 yards and if I go beyond that, it is going to be something like a pig or an Aoudad that I couldn't care less about exact shot placement. I'd imagine most hunters are the same and those truly poking out farther already run Nightforce, S&B or something similar.
