Sawgrass Fishing Rods Pairs with Conner Weigman

Sawgrass Fishing Rods (SFR) in College Station, Texas, is excited to announce its first, and potentially the fishing industry's first, NIL partnership with enthusiastic and longtime outdoorsman, Conner Weigman, 2022 Texas A&M Freshman quarterback.

The five-star quarterback and native Texan is a lifelong angler and is eager to get involved with the Texas-based rod company. "Sawgrass is a Texas-based company built on quality and performance…values I appreciate on and off the football field," Weigman said.

Sawgrass Fishing Rods founder Greg Zwerneman, a die-hard A&M fan, and the local business owner wanted to onboard a young, skilled, and committed angler to the SFR team. "We are more than excited to add Conner to the team. His leadership, preparedness, and skill are all values we cultivate at SFR. This is beyond NIL, it's taking the opportunity to grow our talent base. Conner is a skilled angler, and his input will only benefit our products," Zwerneman said.

After the 2022 Aggie football season, SFR and Weigman plan to announce several unique promotional events and programs for 2023. Along with some special Weigman fan buys throughout the season.
Follow the SFR social media channels for more updates.

Glad yall are supporting the team, but please don't take any advice from a kid quarterback on rod building. Maybe appearance. Maybe.

Why? Great companies always listen to their customers and users of their product. There is always something to learn.

If they come out with The Wiggy Rod it'll be a top seller. They'll both be cashing in too.

I'd buy one. Just give me a tiny reason to buy more fishing gear and I'm all about it.

We have 25+ years of modern fishing rod design experience and learn every day. We listen to our customers and our staff. That doesn't mean every idea goes into production...but Conner is a member of the team and hjis contributions have been useful.

This is exactly how you do it. Always have open ears, but discerning hands.

Our drop shot rods would make a good crappie rod and if you pinned me down for one "bass rod" I would ay the BCS1 MBR 734-1.
