So I've been playing with this. I think it is very helpful for hiking/boating etc. Also for when Google maps is screwed up.
My family has a remote house on the Georgia coast that is impossible to find. Google Maps takes you about 10 miles away on the other side of a tidal river. With this, I could give people the exact location of where the driveway hits the road. Very helpful.
The house is on a tidal river, and getting stuck on a sandbar is a constant issue. With this, you can tell people the exact location. I know iphone can drop a pin for other iphone users, but with this you can communicate with Android users seamlessly.
I also think it would be good for hiking points of interest and not as cumbersome as GPS coordinates.
