We fish main body of lake. I spent plenty of time fishing up the rivers...caught a lot of crappie, but not enough bass to enjoy it.

Last night we were out catching clams. Got ot 8 and quit b/c we thought it would be enough bait. We went through those in less than 45 minutes. Lots of little catfish!

Coleto Creek is a great little bass lake down near Victoria.

Lake Houston is much better for catfish than anything else. Crappie probably second then bass.
Get to sheldon before the grass grows too much and throw worms and spinnerbaits.
The kids will love aeeing the alligators too
Take some earthworms and carch bluegill as well

Conroe, fish up in the creek arms and away from the main lake. Plenty of cover and vegetation.

Local creeks, bayous, are chock full of bass. Jigs and spinnerbaits will get bites.

I've caught a legit 4lb bass in cypress creek not far from Kuykendahl when I lived in spring.

Lake raven is good but you need a small boat to get around the hydrilla.

Lots of these neighborhood ponds have a bunch of bass in them.

This may not be the type of information you are looking for but similar to the above poster, I know of a few spots to fish in urban areas around Houston that can be very good.

Grew up in Cypress and fished almost every day after high school and all summer long. There is some surprisingly good fishing in neighborhood ponds and public access along Cypress Creek.

Send me a PM if you are interested, don't want to broadcast access publicly since many of the spots are accessed through neighborhoods etc. No longer live in Houston/Cypress but miss those days.

Can't go wrong with an h&h spinner or a weightless senko in watermelon

About 10-15 years ago I read a post on here or somewhere else about a guy catching bass in little white oak bayou right there where it crosses west Cavalcade.

The spot is in Houston right there off 45 by the Astro Inn. You know the place.

Theres a short bridge right there and you really cant even see the bayou from the road in the summer.

In any event, the guy said he was catching bass out of there so I drive by one day to check it out.

I was way too grown up to access. You'd have to go through the Astro Inn parking lot or go down underneath the bridge. It would be risky and hard to access. You'd need a whole squad of mfers to run security so you could fish.

So I abandoned the idea, for those reasons but I'd still think about it from time to time when I pass by that area.

I'm still curious about that spot though. Someone on here probably knows or has some story about it.

Never fished that spot myself but I know guys who have done well on White Oak closer to 10 and I've fished farther NW on White Oak up near Hollister & W. Little York. If it hasn't rained recently it gets really clear too.

I am in Atascocita and large mouth bass fish Lake Houston 1-2 times a month. Its not a great lake but its close to the house. I fish from sunrise to about 11am and normally catch 2-3 bass on the average. I generally avoid Luce Bayou because of traffic and focus on the main lake and east fork.

For large numbers on lake houston whitebass, crappie, and catfish would be the best options.
