Looking to take my family of 4 on a fishing trip last weekend of July. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to use out of Galveston? Boys are 13 and 6 so definitely needs to be family friendly.

Steve is a good Aggie, great with kids and will put you on the fish.

Nathan and his wife are actually the childrens directors at our local church and he has been guiding for 20 years in addition to ministry work. He is outstanding with kids and stays on the fish.

Appreciate everyone's input. Does anyone know what fish will be running late July early August around Galveston? Trying to figure out if we want to go offshore a ways or stick to the jetties and channels just off the shore.

Capt Greg Verm Jr. (409)-739-8526. He can take you to catch anything from Swordfish to Snapper to Reds to Trout. Great with kids and very personable.

We have had a great time with Outcast - theyre taglineline is catching 'MONSTAS' but on jetty trips they put on you on plenty of smaller keepers & eaters. Ive seen them bring in big shark & stingrays, but i have no desire to keep or kill any of those. Up to the client of course. We have kept some bull reds in early fall, but even still i like letting the big ones back.

Sharky is GREAT with kids, weve used Shuga Shane too who was good.

Inshore should still have decent redfish & black drum running.

if you go out offshore, Snapper season will still be going through mid-August. From what ive seen so far theyre biting pretty good.
