Sod Poodle = Prairie Dog

Sod poodles is the name of the AA baseball team in Amarillo. Watched a friends kid pitch there. Cool stadium.

I grew up in Amarillo and nobody in that town had heard of the term sod poodle prior to the baseball team name. The stadium is fun and I'm glad they have a team in town again (RIP 'dillas) but prairie dogs haven't ever been called sod poodles!

Wife's family has been here for 120 years, nobody's ever heard of or called a prairie dog a sod poodle. But as mentioned, the games are a hoot!

It's only 109 here this afternoon. Not really looking forward to sweating out a ballgame, but my oldests baseball team is going as a group, so we all decided to go!

But at least it is a dry heat! How'd they do?
