Looking for a "truck" cooler, 20qt or so. I'm tired of replacing hinges on the Igloo.

I would not buy a hard side in that small of a size. If you want a little one, go with the soft side. Pick the one that fits your budget and self image.

Agreed. Don't know why they even make coolers that small. You really only going to drink a 6 pack?

Can't find metal aftermarket hinges? I did for mine and breathed new life into it.
why do you say that? a hard side cooler will hold ice way better than a soft side one. my small RTIC softside doesn't hold much more than my Yeti roadie. and the roadie stays cold astronomically longer.Milwaukees Best Light said:

agreed 10000%.aTm2004 said:
I have a RTIC soft side that does a decent job keeping things cold, but I bought a RTIC 20 hard cooler that's amazing. The seal is so good thst I have to open the drain in order to get the lid open. I typically use ice packs, and they're still solid at the end of the day in it vs melted (but still cold) in the soft side.
IMO, if you're just looking for something for 3-4 hours, the soft side will be a great choice. But if you're wanting soy for the whole day, the hard cookies is worth the extra, IMO.
I have a small soft sided gray Ozark Trail also. It's pretty good for what it is and works well. definitely good for quick trips. Mine only holds about 10 cans with ice though - it's pretty small.SanAntoneAg said:
Walmart Ozark Trail works great. Have had one for years. I use it over my Yeti and RTIC for truck bed trips to ranch and coast, namely because I don't mind it getting sun exposure or abuse from other items in the bed. It keeps things cold.
It's gray. The others are white. I wouldn't go darker than gray for obvious reasons.

How slow are you drinking that you need that much damn ice? 20qt easily fits an 18pk + ice.

I have an igloo marine 25 qt. Have had it probably 10 years and use it in my truck and buggy. It doesnt keep ice as long as a yeti but it costs less than 10% of a yeti
