My two RTIC soft sided coolers were junk. The Yeti soft sided are definitely higher quality.

They're all made in the same places by the same Chinese companies. How else do you think RTIC got the exact specs of YETI to make a knockoff so quickly and easily and found a company willing to produce them.

We have yeti roadie 20's in all 4 of our crew trucks. They don't keep ice very well but they are damn near indestructible. 5years and counting and we've not had to replace any cooler or part of any cooler.

The Yeti 24 is what you want. It is much lighter weight than the roadie and keeps ice well, even if you're in and out of it. The ice lasts 3 days when I go to the lease and it's 90+ out.

I'm considering trying this one. I don't want to buy another RTIC, and I'm not paying stupid yeti prices.

Are the Yukons comparable to the RTIC?

Also, will the non-white coolers lose ice faster than white ones? I really want a seafoam one but not if there will be a huge difference in ice retention

The 20 hard cooler I got is the light blue and I haven't noticed a difference. The darker colors will probably be impacted more though.

I cant speak personally but I figure its pretty close. I have the following following hard sided coolers and like em all for different reasons. Top pro and con of each below......(have been lucky and won 2 of the 3)

Bison - they used to be called someone else but I guess Bison took them over. Have had no problems getting replacement latches.
pro - perfect fit for our boat
con - wish it had a drain plug
color - light brown

Yeti - also had zero issues getting replacement latches
pro - perfect weekend size for me (case of beer, few waters, ice and couple links of sausage
con - the handle hangs down as far as the drain plug and gets wet sometimes.
color - light brown

Igloo Sportsman
pro - can hold a quartered deer and several gallon frozen jugs
con - its pretty heavy even when empty.
color - darker brown

I was gifted a Yeti Tundra 30.

I would have never bought one on my own. Honestly, its been a great little cooler. Rugged as all hell and I beat the hell out of it.

Just picked up a 45qt seafoam green Yukonfor $199 at bucees. Hard to beat that price

Recently had terrible experience buying from igloo directly. Received email that the order was shipped but provided FedEx tracking never showed anything but shipping label created. Repeated calls to igloo customer service simply gave me the runaround. Several weeks I was able to get them to refund after first refusing to do so.

Decide for yourself about their product but if you get one use a better retailer.

3rd day with my yukon and on the same 30# of ice I bought weds morning. The handles are kind of long, but I really like tether'd drain plug and included basket (i dont know how much I'll use). It seals well also, to where I have to open drain to open lid sometimes.

I keep an RTIC 45 hard sided in my truck bed. I lock it down with a bicycle lock. I live in Houston and never had it stolen (I know..shocking).
