My brother called me and told me he wants to put a suppressor on his Beretta 92FS. He asked me what he should get, and I told him I don't have a clue, but that he should be prepared to wait a while.

He lives in a fairly rural area of Wisconsin and I think his objective is probably to run subsonic 9mm with a suppressor so that he can shoot stuff without the neighbors hearing it, though what he is planning to shoot, I have no clue.

I know he has probably a dozen different firearms and several different calibers, but I don't know if he has really thought about running any of the other guns with the suppressor, or if it is solely for the Beretta 9mm.

Any thoughts on what he should be looking at?

Go find a friendly local dealer. See what he stocks in 9mm.

Buy whatever the dealer stocks.

Most people can't tell any difference between 9mm pistol silencers.

Same goes for .22 silencers.

If it was for a machine gun or a centerfire rifle, yes there is a difference in silencer sound, tone, and weight.

Have a few 9mm cans but still like my first the best. Silencerco osprey. Its movie quiet in my beretta 92.

The atf just started allowing electronic form 4's and it should decrease the wait time. Just started a few weeks ago so it's hard to say how much faster, but should be better than the 10-12 months with paper form 4's.
