Talk to me about thermometers for smoking. I've looked at the Inkbird and Thermoworks. Also, looked at Thermopro. Not sure I can justify the the cost for the thermopro if the Inkbird and Thermoworks get the job done. Also, don't think I see a need for having a device that will log my cooks with graphs and stuff. Any need to get Wifi vs bluetooth only? Also, Inkbird only has range of 150 ft, will it be that limiting? Thanks.

What's your smoker set up. I use a Flame Boss Wifi for my BGE.

If your willing to spend the money get the ThermoWorks signal. It is really good. The WiFi is pretty awesome. I can run an errand or sit on the couch or whatever and monitor my temps. It's a lot better than Bluetooth. Bluetooth doesn't work very well though a brick wall. Also go to ThermoWorks website and sign up with your email and every few months they run a special on the signal for about 10% off or so.

Fido - currently running an ugly drum setup. However, I am will be having either an offset or reverse flow built in the very near future. Yes, I realize that is a different discussion altogether.

Another vote for thermoworks products. I use the signals for smoking and thermapen mk4 for almost daily.

I bought one at Academy, it has 2 probes and a little unit that looks like a pager that keeps me updated on temp and alarms when the setpoints are hit.

Don't overthink this - it's a damned thermometer, doesn't have to be uber super duper fancy. I cooked for years without one and still managed to get by.

+1. Don't have a lot to compare it to since it's all I've ever used but always been happy with them. I rarely use the graphs or much beyond monitoring the temp via the app, but it's pretty handy for monitoring the pit temp and up to three individual pieces of meat.

If you know you will be using it a lot, go with ThermoWorks.

If you want something to test the waters with, this one has served me well. (Someone on here recommended it a year or two ago)

I use a ThermoPro TP20 and have been very happy with it. I'd spring for the case ($17) so you're not having to chase pieces all over the place. It's simple enough to use and won't break the bank if it craps out on me.

Used the Inkbird for just over a year, until 3 probes went bad and got tired of Bluetooth connection, depending on where i was in the house. Also had and had several bad readings even before probes went to hell. Upgraded to the Thermoworks Signals and was by far the best decision I ever made. Wifi is 100% the way to go, couldn't pay me to go back to bluetooth, plus knowing you have a very accurate system that you don't have to question or double check when you might have several hundred dollars worth of meat on the smoker. Buy once!

Edit to add. Zero experience with others mentioned, so they might be great also.
