Thanks! Want a book a trip for my best friend and his youngest, who is my Godson.
Will have 5o be 2022 as I don't have a free weekend until NYE.
Couple items to note down.
Even if you dont bring your own rods (i recommend that you do, even a cheap setup will beat the boat rods), you do need to bring your own tuna jigs. The 8oz needle jigs, fully luminous were killing the tuna. Boat has big spot lights along its side to charge you lures on. You can also bring a uv flashlight to supercharge them instead, i would recommend this.
Bring a towel to wipe your hands on, squid is the bait for snapper and it gets everywhere.
Get fighting belts for everyone, even a cheap one. Your arms will thank you.
If the boat is driving to the next major spot, you should be sleeping. You won't last the full tuna night if you dont.
Bring waterproof deck boots or shoes, constant seawater running down the deck washing blood and gunk off the floor and wet feet all night sucks.
Even if you never get seasick, take dramamine or similar anyways. You will not be a happy camper if you get sick an hour or two in.
Port side was shaded almost the entire trip for me, i recommend picking your spots there.
Bring 3-4 changes of clothes, it was nice not having to sleep in squid/blood covered clothes lol
Enjoy the trip, it was a blast.
