Friends are building a house and want some good cameras to monitor the site.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

If you have really good cell service, spypoint works well. If the cell service isn't at least 50%, you might as well not bother with them. I'm using the Link Micro S LTE and where it is placed at the front of the farm house, it sends a picture about 30 seconds after it is triggered. I moved it to the wood line to the hog trap and it won't hardly send anything. You need good service for it to work.

I'm interested in this thread cause I need something for that wood line area.

Would highly not recommend Moultrie's. Have the handful of the 7000 series and one of the new models. They're junk

The older model Moultrie cams were awful. I was churning through them and just about done with Moultrie.

But I tried the Delta model and now have 2 up and running with no issues. Takes great pics and videos and have had no problems.

I bought two SPYPOINT cameras about a year ago. One totally crapped out after about 6 months. The other will send a ton of pics but they're not very clear. I know you can sign up to get hd pics but I still don't think they're very good quality. I would not recommend SPYPOINT

I don't have anything to compare it to, but for what I need from a security stand point, they work great. The front camera is about a year old and the cell link is right at 1 year. So far, no issues with either except when I put the link micro s about 100 yards to the north at the wood line.

According to TBH, the Tactacams are pretty good and very affordable and user friendly. I have one friend with one and he loves it.

I called lots of listed dealers trying to find the tactacam reveal x a couple weeks ago after readings the reviews and recommendations here. All dealers were out of stock and have been for a while.

If anyone has a current supply please let me know.

Very interested in any replies on experiences myself. Was about to drop stupid money on a set of 4 reconyx cell cams as they seem to get good/better than average reviews in the cell cam space. Tired of checking cards and not being able to see anything when not there.

A little pricey, but works really well…

Cuddelink. Call customer service and tell them your exact needs and they will get you the correct camera set up. I have a home camera with six additional linked to it. The setup format is very dated and clumsy but once you get it figured out it is not too bad. Other than that minor issue, their system works great. The satellite cameras use some type of radio signal to send the picture to the home cellular camera and the pictures get emailed to you. I have mine set up on an hourly email. The pictures also store on a Cuddelink homepage set up to your account.

There is no such thing as a reliable cell game camera at this time. If you get one that works, you're lucky to have it last a year. But they are awesome when they do work.

I'll never buy another Moultrie product EVER AGAIN.
Biggest waste of money/piece of junk on the market.

I use mine to monitor construction and potential trespassers/thieves. Due to the construction workers it has taken and processed an untold number of pictures. Again, I have 7 cameras total and they have worked perfectly for over two years.

A couple of Spypoints to start for me, they had to replace one (warranty). No issues since then.
Then bought a Stealthcam (at Sam's)... very reliable from day one. Slightly better pic quality than Spypoint. All on AT&T.

We run two stealthcam is in a place where we get literally zero normal cell service and have no problems.

Get the solar battery hook ups and you never have to mess with this ever.

So which ones are you having luck with? I've honed in on spypoint more so cause the app is super convenient. I still have periodic issues. I'm testing the new bushnell… their last model was a total lemon and is now discontinued. I had minimal issues w cuddelink but their app is way over due to be modernized.

Edit… I see above you posted you use cuddelink.

I have the following:

Spypoint Link Micro-LTE (2nd one, 1st lasted 1 year and crapped the bed. The replacement wont get above 25% cell signal)

Tactacam Reveal (Original). No issues and great pics.

I'd get the new Tactacam Reveal X if I could find it in stock.

I have a spypoint link-s in west Texas. Almost zero cell service and it works great. In the year I've had it, I've had to pull it once and recharge the solar battery. No other issues.

Same here. We have between 7-12 cams running at all times. We use spartan ghosts. Love them. Reliable, fast notifications, long battery life.

I cant say enough good things about them. GREAT tool for job site security
