Finished my 30x50x10 back in April. I went with the 10' eaves because my tractor and mule will live in there, so I only needed 8'x12' doors. I had a local guy draw up the plans for what we wanted. This also included the slab plan. I took the plans to Pioneer Steel in Kurten and they put a package together. The red iron is in stock, and we had to wait a little while for the outer steel. I had a local guy pour the slab, including putting all of the plumbing lines in. I hired another local guy to come and erect the building. All of the frame was welded and we used the blanket insulation from Pioneer with the skin over the top of that. We have a metal walk through door (Pioneer) and originally we only had 2 windows, but I purchased 3 more that were installed during construction. I bought the windows at Lowes, double pane aluminum frame for less than $150 each. There are 2 garage doors in the front and one in the rear for a drive through (highly recommended). I bought the garage doors in Bryan at American Garage Door, and they are insulated as well, and had them install them once the building was up.
Pioneer was considerably less expensive than the place in Brenham ,DDM). Brenham place told me it was at least a 2 month delivery window (this was back in February).
I had a local electrician wire the shop for me, nothing crazy. Haven't gotten around to putting in the little bathroom yet, but I do have running water that I plumbed from our well for outdoor hose bibs. All in all, very happy with the way it turned out.
The insulation is a must in my opinion, wether it be the blanket type, or the spray in kind. When we get out there and opened the door this morning it was @74 degrees inside. I'll eventually wall off part for my workshop area, and put in an AC wall unit.
