I am not near a tornado siren, and am actually okay with that. What app is the best for sending alerts for tornado warnings?

I use MyRadar and it works for me.

I like myradar. Told me it was going to rain last night 15 minutes before so I could put my recently washed car in the garage

One more for MyRadar. My extended family that farms in the Panhandle turned me on to for tornado activity when I was up there a few years ago. As mentioned the future rain notification is shockingly accurate even for a small passing shower.

I like the paid version of both MyRadar and RadarScope

RadarScope on the iPad is extremely useful. MyRadar is what I use on the phone when on the road.

Well that did not go well .... will try again with pic ... but i like the tornado app.

You can monitor multiple locations and set a radius around each.

Went off during cowboy game when 2019 tornado headed my way in dallas.

I just downloaded MyRadar. It's good, but StormRadar by the Weather Channel is better. Graphics are more concise and you are able to get a 15 day forecast really easy for any location. Still haven't figured out all the jumbled icons on MyRadar.

I use "my radar" for quick regional looks at the radar.
For bad weather locally, I switch to "Radar Scope"

If I had to choose one it would be "radar scope". It's an incredibly professional app and worth every penny that I pay for it.

"Storm radar" is good as well, but I prefer my radar. Just personal preference

I have an app that shows lightening strikes and I get weather channel updates for severe weather which are helpful but don't show where tornado activity is like the lightening app.

Is there an app that actually shows cyclonic location so you can know how close it is to your actual location versus just a warning alert ?

Windy is pretty awesome.

Get paid version of RadarScope and learn how to use it. You can predict tornado warnings before they are actually called.

And there is app called Weather Radio. It's my favorite for just warning notification. Radar Scope for radar.

I rely on RadarScope for early radar data for storms. I'm a Roofing PM for Houston, BCS, all the way to San Antonio and Austin so I use it to get team members prepped for inspections in a city.

RadarScope is kind of pricey but the information it provides is pretty handy from a personal safety standpoint.

Your company is not storm chaser is it wirh a florida number

That guy was good said he already had an inspection and all the jumbo salesman crap to go with it but he did his research

Texted my wife first by name and she is no where on the apartment website or even owner visibly

And then he called me and had all the info.

I was impressed and told him so.

Radarscope if you are a serious weather nerd or you are outside frequently. I cannot imagine having a device without it. You can add GPS waypoints to it to mark homes, work, friends, kids places, deer camp, etc

Storm was great/very accurate before TWC acquired it, then it was OK, now TWC is shutting it down to move traffic and adclicks over to its own legacy main app. TWC main app had notably privacy concerns a few years back, so I don't trust it.

RadarScope is hands-down the best real time radar app I have used. For $10 you get real-time feeds from .gov Nexrad sites & some airport terminal radars that update every 5 minutes. You can pay more to access more detailed data. This is NOT a forecasting app. This is raw data that the pros use to help with their forecasting.

Has anyone tried out RadarOmega that Timmer has been hawking?

I haven't tried RadarOmega but it looks solid. But RadarScope Pro meets my needs.

Those apps are all great but for alerts you can't wrong by following your NWS office on twitter app and set up push notifications when they tweet. I follow various offices and you can usually track the systems as they pass each office and watch it develop before it gets to your sector. Once in your sector your local NWS facility will cover it and alert if necessary.
