Wonderful interview, and a great addition to the Aggie volleyball family!!
Key notes from Maya Ogbogu interview
- My parents went to Texas A&M, and I loved it ever since I was a kid. In my commit video, there are so many photos of me in A&M gear. Even when I got my first call, I knew this is where I wanted to be. I love the campus. I love the coaching staff. I love everything about it.
- It was a quick recruiting process. I committed on June 16, which is the day right after I got my offer. I was a little overwhelmed, but I prayed on it. In my heart, I knew this is where I wanted to be. If you asked any of my friends, you would've heard how I just wanted to be an Aggie. I'm so excited.
- When I was here for camp, I got to play around and see all of the high-level talent on campus. It sealed the deal for me.
- During the national title run, I was watching every game. I have seen the title match and the Nebraska win like five times. It was so amazing. I just love watching it over and over.
- Jamie Morrison and his staff made me so comfortable. They're a great coaching staff. They're amazing. I just can't wait to get to campus.
- My dad played basketball at A&M, so when I was younger, I came to campus all the time. I loved it then, and I already knew this is where I wanted to be.
- Being close to home wasn't super important. If there was a place out of state that I wanted to be, I would've gone, but this is where I wanted to play.
- I met so many new people and coaches during my career, and I'm so grateful for all of the people who have pushed me to be a better player. It has been amazing.
- I'm an energetic player. I play fun and aggressively. I love celebrating my teammates and bringing the fire to the court.
