Honestly, no. But after purchasing the 12k duromax I haven't exactly been paying attention either.

It reached the point where Westinghouse house said 9 months or .ore before they started manufacturing the one I wanted, so I just pulled the trigger on the DuroMax right before last hurricane season.

There are NG conversion kits available for many of the generators out there, so don't get stuck on waiting for a trifuel model to be released. Find a dual fuel model you like and get it, then buy the conversion kit.

My issue is my breaker is on the back of the garage and my nat gas meter is on the other side of the property.
30 and 50 amp cable is cheaper than running additional gas lines. And if you know where your sprinkler lines run, you can rent a trencher and get most of the path dug pretty easily to bury the cable if that's your preference.

If going the wire route, I'm just going to go through the attic.

I do need to replace a buried gas line as the old one is too brittle for where I'd like to place an outside grilling station, so I'm betting the whole things needs to be replaced. The issue is I'd still have to go around a massive oak, and that's just too much trenching and dodging a sprinkler system, where I'm not even sure where the lines are.

I'll say this, the inlet for gas into our kitchen is on the opposite side of the house from our meter, and I had a plumber come out to see if it was working since it was capped before going into the house (it wasn't...turned on and no gas came out), and they quoted me $2k to run a new line if I dug the 18" deep trench around the house.

$2k? JFC. I guess depends on how far and how many joints/bends they have to put in it. If I knew I was going to stay in this house for 20years, it'd be a bit different calculus on how much I'm willing to spend. Vs a short run to the meter, push the generator over and just run it on gas. Talking to my wife the only 3 things that are a must to run is the AC or heater, and our fridge and garage freezer. Everything else we can get by with camp equipment or a small honda 2k invert generator to run the entertainment.

The plumber who came to look at what we had basically said the real expense is trenching, as I know our sprinkler system, control wires and the main sewer line are all in the way. And I have a really bad back, so I can't do this and we can't rent a trencher. We have H/C water stubbed out, sewer line run and a circuit on a 20A breaker to flesh out the whole thing, it's just the gas line issue. And I could go the easy route and just use propane, but I really didn't want to deal with propane tanks.

Curious how much the whole home natural gas generators cost to run per day vs a portable gas generator.

Registered with the state, probably since it is a UST. But it does not have to be inspected every year.

We've got a 1,000 gallon propane tank buried on our lot and we've never had anything done to it but fill it. Depending on who fills it, they typically charge an inspection fee the first time it's filled or if it drops below 20%.

If I didn't have a whole home, that would be ordered when available.
