I have been reading a ton of endurance and mental toughness books lately. The past few years I've been doing a lot of Ironmans so it's been a major focus. Goggins is great.

Also enjoyed the Mitch Rapp series. Sad the writer passed away.

No lie, go pick up a copy of "World War Z". Any amazing book that I absolutely love. And I've heard the audio version is fantastic as well.

I'll second the Jack Carr books. I'm reading through the series right now. The first book was incredible and intense. I had a hard time putting it down.

Michael Connelly books - Harry Bosch is the main character. Great police/detective stories set in Los Angeles.

Jack Reacher series by Lee Child

For Texas history - "Lonestar" - it's pretty exhaustive.

"News of the World" - book is much better than the movie (usually true for most books/movies imo)

Some of the early John Grisham books - his later ones are way too liberal for me.

Also, The Bloody Chamber is a very interesting one to read. It's a collection of short fiction, and there are 10 short stories. I accidentally found out about these short stories, but they are for sure worth reading. Some time ago, I got a task to write a review of one book you recommend to read, and I decided to look for some info and examples. I came across this site https://paperap.com/free-papers/short-story/where I found articles related to different stories and found the one dedicated to The Bloody Chamber. I read the article, it interested me, and I decided to read it.

If you like reading about Texas stories, Texas History, Texas characters and other "country" topics like cattle, horses, trail drives or early explorers, this is your guy.

He was a Texas Ex and professor there, but that was about 100 years ago. I don't believe any author has a more complete anthology on Texas.

I have been on a Peter Heller kick lately. Currently reading The Painter after finishing The Guide. They're fairly easy reads and they all lean on his knowledge of river navigation and flyfishing. I wish I would have saved the Dog Stars and The River as they were page burners for me.
