We just bought a place that has a 4,000 sf barn on it. Plan to finish out about 2,500 s.f. of it or so with a couple of bedrooms, kitchen and living room/game room. Anybody got any pics of projects they have done or seen that you really liked?

I met this woman several months ago through someone I'm financing a barnodominium build job for. I went out to the show home in this video and it is beyond anything I had expected. I'm not affiliated with her company but I had never seen a barndo this well designed.

bottom floor needs good air, and the top needs insulation or you'll be smelling horse **** all the time.

tack on the upwind side, hay down. keep the hay dry for sure and leave one end openable.

you want driveway enough to cruise your biggest trailer right through the middle.

make sure to make patios for the grille, band, firepit, etc.,

as long as you can ****, shower, shave and shag upstairs, that's all you really need.

Texas Barndominiums is a great channel. If you see a layout you like you can buy plans from their guy Elliott. I'm in the process of building number 194. Without the penny floor of course!

We are in the process of planning our barndo and are using Stacy Lynn to help with the design, nothing fancy, we wanted to keep it small and efficient. We are going to use a local builder, but we needed some help on layout of the living side. We sent her our drawings that we thought were what we wanted and she had great thoughts and changes for ways we could better use the space. She also had good thoughts on the overall building process and dimensions of the building. Since she is also a builder, but not in our area, she also gave us an unbiased idea of what changes should cost, which is helpful with our builder. I would definitely recommend her for this kind of work.

Have you been to her house for a tour? Her use of space is amazing.

No we have been e-mailing and talking over the phone. Her set up looks awesome, but a bit fancier than what we are doing, although my wife is jonesing for that pantry. I think she is in east Texas, is that the case.
