Mason County this weekend. The weather will suck, but hopefully the deer will be moving.

Anybody seeing the activity pickup?

Bucks were running does last weekend in Coryell County.

I'll be in Leon County starting Thursday AM. Gonna be pretty warm but I'm hoping it won't affect deer movement too much.

Mason County was slow last weekend. Some of the Boy Banks were still together.

McCulloch county as of yesterday was nada on the rut activity.

Bucks have begun chasing in Hays county.

Ive seen young bucks chasing for a month in Fayette County. Went out last weekend and didn't see anything. I'm not sure what to think. Fayette County

Burleson county. Bucks nudgeing does but still in the same groups as in June. Our peak is usually late November.

Was slow for us too last weekend. Second round picks up usually 2nd-3rd wk in November. If you look at the bucks killed in the Big Buck contest at the Cistern store majority are in this time frame for the past few yrs.
A good cold front Would definitely help though.

Saw evidence of it last week in our neighborhood in Bexar Co.

Not surprisingly, none in Frio County over the weekend.

Swollen Necks in San Saba Co. Bucks are also running doe in Bulverde, North of San Antonio.

No sign of the rut this past weekend in the Comanche/Zephyr area where we hunt, but there are bucks with swollen necks all around Kerrville. I have mature bucks making scrapes in my front yard and starting to follow doe. My office neighborhood in Kerrville is surrounded by woodlot bucks and I noticed them yesterday starting to act rutty.

Starting to pick up in Robertson County.

Rut was over in late September down here, just like it always is. Every doe shot so far has been pregnant.

East Texas was awful slow this week. Scrapes being kept clean but does weren't stressed. Tough to tell how rut is going when all you see are hogs and a little 6 that is just walking the woods...

Coleman county - were not chasing over weekend. Bucks still hanging out together.

Have noticed they've started showing up on cams alone and at night the last few nights.

Headed out there again tomorrow night.

Same for what we saw last weekend in Jasper. Our local processor said none of the bucks brought in, which were few in number, had swollen necks.

Check back around Christmas down here in South Texas. They'd die of heat exhaustion if they tried to rut right now.

I'm next door in Llano. No rut activity. If you run feeders, very little activity. Erryone eating acorns all day and night.

Getting busy in Runnels County from two nights ago! Headed out this weekend.

Lexington a few days ago. It's on.

Fayette county rut has been on since early to mid October. Shot my target buck Halloween evening and he was actively chasing a doe. Haven't been back out hunting since -so not sure what they're doing currently.

Yep. Watched a young six on the ranch Tuesday neck stretched out low moving out trailing an unseen doe..... Saw a broad racked (rare for our part of Coryell) 8 herding 2 does Wednesday night.

Caldwell County (Lockhart) looked like activity was just getting started last Sunday. In the morning I had a decent 8 come in, and once a doe showed up he was on the run. Chased her around the area for 10 minutes or so. He also sparred with a smaller 4 pt. for a while before the doe showed up.

Thanksgiving is normally the hot week for the rut, but it looks like it may be a bit earlier this year.

This weekend prolly sets it off... 45 is mighty cold compared to the last few weeks... If I can keep the cousins across the road out of my spots thanksgiving should be pretty good...

Very little rut activity in Kimble Co. opening weekend. Looked like some of the bucks were just starting to think about it.

Hood county saw 1 day where there was rutting activity about 3 weeks ago. We have 2 acres in a subdivision but we are back in the corner backed up to 200 undeveloped/unhunted land filled with deer with several hundred more acres across the road also filled with deer. Last year the rut was crazy. I have a feeder out and a group of about 10 does that visits every day so during the rut we are covered up in bucks coming through, chasing does, fighting, making scrapes etc. This year we have literally only had a single day with any signs of rutting activity and that was in the last week of October. We had several bucks chasing does around the yard and I almost hit a small buck chasing a doe through the neighborhood early the next morning. Since then absolutely no sign of the rut.

I hunted Big Lake Bottom WMA last weekend. Did not see any sign at all of rutting activity but the one guy out there who shot a deer said 2 bucks were following a doe when he shot his buck.

Fayette county as well checking in. Was slow last weekend but my buddy is out there right now and reporting tons of deer movement...as well as a request for gold bond.

Seen young deer chasing and young bucks doing some light sparring, but haven't seen any evidence of the big boys starting to chase. Still hanging out together as late as last Friday

Thinking this weekend will be the start. For no other reason than I can't deer hunt next weekend!

Nothing close to rut in Jim Hogg but I was able to take down this bruiser management 8 point this morning. 5.5 years old, 235 lbs on the hoof.
