So I have a metal lower frame for a box blind (box blind is being used elsewhere).

The box that is supposed to go on it, is molded plastic. I think I can get the same set up for ~$500 but wondering if anyone had any ideas that wasn't that.

Basically... what other kind of siding would y'all think about using? Would need to be light weight, so 3/4 plywood is out. Quarter inch might work, but would want to add something else to it for more protection.

Thoughts? Sheet metal? vinyl siding?

I think this is the best idea. Light weight and cheap

I built a 4x4 blind out of fence pickets - toss some insulation on the inside and call it good

Foam board

Could be anything to block the wind from coming through pickets. Really

We just finished one at our place with leftover pickets from the house fence.

Turned out pretty nice

How many "studs" did you use on your sides?

We got tired of building heavy ass blinds that were a bltch to move so we started using 2x2s with 1 stud on each side.

It's a 4x6 blind so the pickets on the long sides didn't have to be cut.

Next one I do, I'll simplify the frame Like you did as this one was a bit heavier than I would prefer - but the intent is to flip it on its side and drag it around the property with the side by side. I've yet to add skids or the roof but have some scrap metal siding that'll work good for the roof

4x4s mean that's one heavy mother...

Might also see some window opening sag after a season without more support on the sides.

That better be a Tennessee flag in the corner.

I wish. I'm married to a sip.

I don't have any idea who that #16 is on the wall above the TV - but keeping it in the garage keeps it out of the house
