Wow, I didn't realize it was still there. It's been over 30 years since I ate at the Inn, back when we lived in Northshore.

Before I started reading the responses I thought, "It has to be the King's Inn!" Many, many year's ago when I was a young engineer we got paid every other Friday and another friend and our spouses would celebrate.We would go to King's Inn and the the next week, from memory, to the Mesquite Inn. They were 4 or 5 miles apart. The wives liked Mesquite best....we liked King's.

The Avocado salad had a unique dressing. When someone was transferred or retired there was always a party at King's of 50 or so people. One elderly lady, she was probably forty, was always trying to get the recipe from the owner for the dressing. About the time the salad would arrive she would be soused. As we were about to leave one night she was still begging. The owner said, "OK, I'll tell you now and never again"....and she did."

Ten seconds later we were dragging her to their car.

The next day my wife was making the dressing and did so for decades.....

It was a long time ago It was pretty small. I think there was just a single school location for 1-12 but at least two separate buildings......We only lived there for a little more than two years.

This saddens me to type. We went to the Kings inn every year for Father's Day when my grandfather was alive. Have averaged probably 5 stops a year there since I was a kid. The last two years have been very sub par. I'm sure it will come back. But I've skipped it more times recently rather than cut off 77 to head that way.

Has the Boiling Pot in Fulton been rebuilt? Used to like that place a lot.

Someone mentioned Sartin's. My dad knew the old man when he was running crab traps. His wife was an amazing cook and everyone was telling him to open a restaurant. Couple years later my dad runs into him and he's complaining about paying taxes on $500k a year. Sadly we were too poor to ever eat there.

Dido's on the San Bernard river. They have a cool paddle-wheel boat for private parties and such.

All you can eat shrimp and fish. They just put it on a table and people help themselves. Have a bar there too and usually someone's playing a guitar on the porch.

Way Side Bar, Trout Creek, MT. They apparently get their sockeye and halibut in fresh.
