I've already killed 3 scorpions in our house this week and my little boy has been stung by one. What is the best way to get rid of these suckers?

Hammered them this year. Bifen along baseboards (doesn't stain) and over the yard. Demon along exterior foundation. Killing them like crazy

Built a house in 2018 and have had a terrible scorpion problem since the get go. Supposedly they are attracted to the fresh wood of new construction. Could be bs.

Any way I've become a pretty good at home pest control for these little bastages.

A powder suspension is good like Demon is a effective treatment. But I have discovered an encapsulated poison is even more potent for scorpions and spiders. I have been using Onslaught Fastcap and it is bad stuff. I have read LamdaStar Ultracap is good, as well as Cy-kick but haven't used them personally.

Spray along base boards, but also when doing a perimeter treatment outside, spray up the exterior walls at least 2-3 feet and around windows and door jambs.

Add a granular treatment like Bifen or Delta Gaurd G around the perimeter of your home at least 6-8 wide and your scorpion problems will go away(along with most other insect pests).

I'm not thinking of my chemicals correctly. Bifen XTS for mosquitoes in the yard and Onslaught Fastcap scorpion killer for scorpions. I'm mixed it with suspend SC and Cy kick and seems to kill everything quickly.

The 100 LED UV lights are fun, especially with the yellow glasses. A beer or few and walk around your property killing scorpions is always fun.

Demon wp spray a 3 foot strip Up the walls around the outside of the house every 3 months. Never have to spray in the house.

As long as you have that problem make sure you shake out all clothing, socks and shoes before putting them on.
Getting hit a few times on the foot, hand or ankle is bad enough but getting hit in the never, never's will take you to a new level of pain.

Buddy used the black light method. He has two 10-13 year old boys so in season each got a light and a hammer. They hunted them every night. He still drank the three beers. Win-win.

yep. Get the 10 buck UV flashlight. You can slaughter them.

I assume everyone who has a scorpion issue is in central Texas / Hill Country. Lived my whole life in NE Texas and have never seen one in our house. See them at deer lease in Blanco on occasion. Am I just lucky or is it a territorial thing?

We spray Demon around the house & over hangs. Occasionally find one in the house but they are usually already dead (think my cats take care of them).

But my 5 year old got hit on her finger Monday. She was outside & went to move a rock & he was sitting on the corner of it. 20 minutes of her screaming bloody murder was not fun.

We are west of Fort Worth.

We did have a little snake in the house the other day. That was fun.

I've told my tale of woe on Tex Ags previously but the short version is:
Grabbed pair of cut off's out of clothes hamper to go swimming
Although I lived in the Hill country and was used to the small translucent type of scorpion this was at my uncle's place outside Valentine. A big black scorpion the size of a crayfish nailed me twice on the testicles and once in the bung hole. Pain was instant, searing, crippling and continuous.
An hour trip to the ER grabbing ice out of a cooler and slamming Lone Star.
Testicles swelled up to the size of golf.balls. Lot's of giggles on the other side of the curtain.
Morphine had no effect so they pumped me with Dilaudid. .
Discharged 8 hours later. Residual pain for three days.

Central Texas here. I always shake out boots and gloves and anything that is enclosed.

oh hell no, I have only interacted with the bark scorpions. If I thought there was one of those desert *******s around I would live with a flamethrower in my hand.

Spray every 6-8 weeks or after big rains. Yes it's a commitment. But you'll stop seeing anything alive. Just some straight tails that are dying.

I'm also about to start Bifen granules in the yard, but I anticipate to continue demon from now til forever.
