Ok, how much for a set shipped?

As pictured, those were $100 each, but he also chose the most expensive options possible. They could be done for less by using a more economical wood, face grain instead of end grain, no corner pockets, etc.

This customer was local so no shipping was involved.

I don't mind shipping any of my products, but the customer pays whatever the actual shipping costs are. Being solid hardwood, these things aren't light, so shipping a set from Houston to DFW for example would probably cost about $30-$35 for UPS ground and proper packing materials.
How about only 1 big one with the corner pocket? We do "steak night" - the whole 1 1//2" ribeye cast iron skillet & oven thing - and there are no plates at the table etc. We slap the finished steak on a platter, some one slices it, and everyone digs in - and sops up the juice with French bread. Now we use cheesy plastic platters - a fancy cutting board like that would be awesome! Thinking something in the range of 18"x18" or 24" x 24" - more like a big cutting board with the the drain channels and big corner pocket.

Let me know.
We've started doing the same thing. Sear on Cast iron skillet, then broil in oven. When ready, we cut them up and serve them family style. It is awesome!!

A guy contacted me saying he ordered some high end steak knives and didn't want to be cutting with said knives on ceramic plates, so he asked me to build some "steak plates" for him. .

This guy sounds like one cool MF'er.

Do you have an Etsy shop or something? I've been wanting a nice cutting board.

Did you change your username recently? Your email address listed in your profile implies you might be somebody that I've communicated/met up with before, but under a different user name. (And you live fairly close to me)

For size reference, the ones posted above are 10.5" x 13.5". I went back and put the sizes and price in a spreadsheet to see how they compare to my other set pricing structure, and to be honest I underpriced them by $5-10 each, but I already put that price out there so I'll stick with it for that size.

For solid walnut, end grain, with juice groove and corner pocket (similar to ones posted above) :

18" x 18" would be $185 (Base price of end grain board for this size would be $165, +$5 for all walnut, +$10 for juice groove, +$5 for corner pocket)

24" x 24" would be $255 (Base price of end grain board for this size would be $230, +$10 for all walnut, +$10 for juice groove, +$5 for corner pocket)

They are awesome. We've gotten several compliments from guests. I may need a couple more!

Only one more year out for my custom knives!

No sorry, I don't do Etsy (for a few reasons). For examples of my work, check out my cutting board thread in the classifieds here:

https://texags.com/forums/50/topics/3023523/1#discussion

I haven't updated it since Christmas basically, but the boards I have listed for sale on there are current/accurate. I really need to update it with some pictures of boards I have completed recently, like these steaks plates I posted in here. I also have some other new designs/patterns to show off (solid walnut face grain, Texas Flag, etc), and custom orders such as boards made to fit on a kitchen sink. I'll try to get an update done to my thread soon.

Feel free to email me ekuhrt@gmail.com. I would love to answer any questions you have and talk you through options on a custom design.

BSD - Now that you have used them what are your thoughts on the corner pockets, are they big enough? When we do the "Steak Night" thing I add extra butter when they go in the oven so we end up with extra liquids that I dump onto the platter to soak up with the bread. Just curious if I should get bigger pocket or if it would be overkill....
