I don't think SD Tactical sells the kits anymore, they have moved to full Form 4 suppressor fabrication and I think they shut down their side that sold parts and pieces for the most part. Last time I looked on there they had very little in terms of kit components.

I THINK they still offer the same stuff I bought from them. But thats why I got my baffle material from DM.

I need to pick up a few more of their brakes, cause I like the QD thread on there and it'd be nice to swap back and forth on more rifles.

Their brakes are good, and I like that they offer them in different materials as well.

For those that are in BCS, I would like to compare my store bought suppressors with your Form 1 home made suppressors. Would be fun to get out and do some shooting.

I want to build a .45 can to put on my larger guns.

Obviously after the quarantine.

My F1 is a .30 cal can, but the largest I shoot it on is my 7mm-08 for now (still need to thread the barrel on my .30-06). probably not near as good as some factory cans, but it definitely takes the edge off.

Would definitely be interested in meeting up and comparing.

I'm not in BCS, but I'm close enough. I've got 2 F1 cans, 9mm and .30. If someone would release an AR mag that would feed 9x39, I'd build a 3rd one.

I have 9mm Dead Air Wolfman Can to compare, an old .30 cal can that I had re-built. Internals look very similar to my Wolfman now.

.22 SiCo Sparrow and .30 Cal Dead Air Nomad in Jail. Hopefully I get those soon.

I've got a .22 can from Rebel Silencers as well. Dirt cheap, but it works pretty well.

The Wolfman, at least what I've seen and read, is possibly the best can of all time. May not be good to compare that against regular old Form 1 cans.

Think about the author of that. Then think of a pile of dried up cat crap in the yard. Guess which one is smarter and more useful.

Hint: It's the dried up cat crap

I actually went to their site earlier - no spacers, freeze plugs, threaded pipe sections, etc. anymore. They have almost eliminated all of it. They still sell the brakes and end caps though.

I believe they got into it with the ATF and had to stop selling the baffles and spacers, which makes me like them even more.

Yeah to be clear, I was saying "like SD tactical even more". The ATF is one big infringement.

Sorry, I should've specified. I only got the Brake, Tube, and Endcaps from SDTA originally.

Thats why I said I got the baffles and spacers from DM (Diversified Machine).

Yep, I got mine from STDA as well. But they don't even sell the tubes anymore. Bare pipe only.

Diversified machine is basically out of anything titanium right now unfortunately.

I was considering the Quite Bore 22lr kit but am not sure it is worth it. I still have to do a $200 stamp + $150-300 in parts.

Pro: I save $100 and I have it in about a month.

Con: For 100 more I can have a Mask, Switchback or Occulus.

If it works close to the same it is worth it.

A .22 can will work close to the same, just may be bigger in diameter or a smidge heavier (but not grotesquely so). The biggest difference is going to be the time component - a few weeks for a Form 1 versus several months or more for a Form 4. I can deal with a little weight or maybe a decibel difference in sound for the speed component personally, but that's just me.

If you can wait, check out the Q erector. You can add or subtract as many baffles as you want. Truely modular. Also super quiet at that and light weight.

I dont really want to wait a year for a can that is only rated for 22lr. I know it is one of the quietest and lightest.
I am a little upset with my self for putting an omega in jail and not a hybrid.

I want to be able to shoot mag and I plan to buy a 17 at some point. Now that the Ruger 57 is out that is looking like an option also.

The quiet bore kit is light. 1"x5.25" with K baffles. The cone kits with ss get pretty heavy pretty fast. I would not care buy my primary host would be a pistol. If I build one I plan to add a couple Ti cups for the first 2

Wait times aren't necessarily a year right now. I submitted everything back in October and picked one up three weeks ago. It was only six months for a Form 4 through a trust.

I think that was a surprise one time window because the ATF added an office, right?

I was told ATF is doing Tax Stamps from home during this shut down. My dad's dealer in East texas said we should see them moving faster.

You are correct. Several people from September to Oct has gave them back in about 6 months. 3 people came in while I was buying my Omega. I know a couple people that a close to a year now. I think one said he was at 340 days last week.

You can use aluminum on pistol rounds without any issue. Going with a Ti blast baffle will give you a little extra insurance without adding much weight. Pistols simply don't generate the heat or pressure where you have to worry about metal fatigue. Hell, the original H&K MP5 suppressor is all aluminum, internals and all - and it's FA rated.

I've had both a 9mm and a .30 can built with SDTA parts for 4-5 years. They are a little on the heavy side, but they perform well and are durable.

FYI for anyone looking at this thread a year later, Diversified Machine was shut down by the ATF.
