Meh, I'm mostly just curious. From what I've seen on the web, it takes some fairly sophisticated (expensive) equipment to properly meter a supressor. Ex- you can't just download a noise level app on the iPhone.
So naturally, I'm interested in how Pear is metering his cans to come up with the statement that his Form 1 can outperforms a professional made form 4 can.
I don't care what a decibel meter says, I care how it sounds to my ear. And there are more factors than just decibel reduction that factor in to the overall sound equation, despite what the marketing guys will tell you. FRP and tone are arguably more important. Your ear can't tell the difference in 32 dbl reduction and 34. But you can absolutely tell the difference in tone. And silencer companies aren't going to advertise that their cans have horrible FRP or POI shift. With a form 1 can, you have the ability to tailor your can to your use. And you can absolutely tell the difference in sound by not having a can at all for a year.
