Anyone been?

If I am thinking of the right place, I seem to remember a thread on here about them and there were some negative comments from multiple posters about the guy who ran the place.

This is a class A scam.

I won a "free" hunt from them for sharing one of their FB posts. When I contacted them to claim my "free" hunt, here is what I was told.

$99 Booking fee
Mandatory $150 gratuity upon arrival to the ranch
Cleaning fee flat rate of $50 for hogs up to 50 lbs; Service also included field retrieval, cutting the bigger hogs into 10 pieces, freezer/cooler space.
Cleaning for hogs over 50 Lbs is $1/lb. Ranch staff does all animal cleaning only.

On their website they show their guides cleaning some "monster" hogs that are supposed to be 300+Lbs. I'm pretty sure someone had their foot on the scale.

I am now blocked from commenting on their FB page.

All the people giving them good reviews seem to be people from places like Wisconsin. Comments on their FB like "Ive dreamed of hunting wild boar all my life. Just marked another thing off my bucket list with a 250Lb hog".

A guy on our lease went as a guest. As he told the story, Spirit Airlines came to mind ... tiny, charge extra for everything besides the basic service, try to upsell you throughout the process, and you leave dissatisfied, but essentially getting what you paid for. Some of the experience sounded downright dangerous too ... spot and stalk hunting with 3-5 guys he didn't know, all with semi-auto rifles and pistols on their hips, wild west atmosphere when pigs rolled through and the shooting started. Didn't sound like an enjoyable experience IMO.

Because they know people are dumb enough to pay their fees to kill a hog, duh.

I guess they make enough money they're not worried about the damage the hogs do

Guy got killed at Independence last fall, apparently shot by his buddy in an accident leaving the blind.

It's right down the road from some folks I know. You can imagine how they feel about a revolving door of day hunters, hogs and lead getting flung around. This place is less than 300 acres btw. A hog can run across it in 5 minutes.

We went for a bachelor party within the last year and yes it's a scam.

I decided I wasn't going to pay that much to shoot hogs so I passed on hunting and just hung out, ate, and drank beer.

Not only is it a scam but it's dangerous. It's only like 250 acres and there were 60 people hunting. VERY close quarters with a bunch of people not all that experienced with firearms. It's not surprising they've had a death there recently.

60 people hunting on 250 acres. Just reading this thread makes me want to punch someone.

Man it's the sketchiest shlt.

They literally tell you during orientation not to ever get out of your blind before they come get you because people are still shooting. They also tell you don't shoot out of your lane because if someone is out of their blind they'll be in your line of fire.

We looked at each other and were floored. Me and the few others that passed on hunting were glad we did.

How's this place not shut down?

I can't even picture how that could happen unless you had 6 blinds, visible to each other, with 10 in each

Just went through their Facebook. Seems the few negative reviews say money grab scam.
