Academy has this stand on sale for $229.99. Very stable and accommodating to customization.

Intriguing. Any personal feedback? I'm looking to add a few inexpensive stands for next season

They are ok. I just gave 2 of them to a guy that used to guide pig hunts for me because I decided to not move them to the new lease.

I never liked the fact they have no cover above the shooting rail and the rail was too low for me. I modified both to make it work but never loved it.

My biggest issue was the seat. It's made for 2 people but it's one long bench. So if one person needed to be closer to the rail, the other gets moved away and vice versa. I made some brackets and used boat seats that would move independent of one another. It worked much better.

Have any recommendations for something more economical like this that does work? I'm trying to stay away from spending a ridiculous amount of money on blinds

I have the 1.0 (I guess) version. I don't have any complaints except that the 2.0 accessory kit doesn't fit the 1.0. I think you can still buy the 1.0 but not in store. Anyway, for mine I did buy the accessory kit which basically turns it into a 'pop up' style blind on an elevated platform. The accessory material is similar to that of a pop up so it'll last a season, maybe two, if left out in the elements year round. Around the sides I added camo burlap as an additional layer of protection/cover. The cushions on my seat are just now starting to show some mildew. I think I've had the thing for ~4 years. If there was no top though the seat would probably be pretty nasty by now. I'm a fan for the price. I was also able to set it up by myself but an extra hand would've been helpful.

We are currently using 3. One is the 1.0 which, as jmazz indicated, is configured a bit differently than the 2.0. Seems like they raised the shooting rail settings on the second one but I may be wrong. I had a guy that is 6'3'' in one last evening and he said it was perfect when he used the rail on a couple of hogs.
I didn't spring for the cover kit as the one for the 2 man ladder stand was junk and figured the quadpod one would be as well. We went for 2 options for customizing. One is that one of the Academy popups will fit inside snuggly. Not my favorite but it is an option.
My preference is building a framework out of schedule 40 pvc with 5' risers and putting a top on that. Wire or zip tie it to the frame and you have a very useable covered 2 man stand.
I agree with skelso on the seats but the 2.0 is more comfortable than the initial version. You can skip the double bench seat that comes with it and just put a couple of camp chairs with a wide foot inside. Carpet it and you are double set.
With tax, you can't get a more affordable similar stand for under $250.

I paid $270 for mine a few years ago and would buy again. Its setup in a dense area aimed at maintained lanes. The skirt and top don't last but a season or two...replacements are available. The floor allows the chill to come through which gets chilly if not prepared for it. Something inexpensive for pigs is what I use it for and it works.

Sorry, was driving home from lease.

I dont have any recommendation in that price range and I didnt mean to sound like they weren't worth the money. Just pointing out some mods you can do to make them better.

We have one at our place and it is about why you would expect for the price.

I've been thinking about picking one of these up for awhile now but I keep stopping because I'm not sure on stand location. Would putting one of the in the middle of an open pasture be an issue? I'm only hunting for hogs and yotes

I still don't know if I want to pull the trigger and buy one. I know this will probably be the best price they ever will be.

Would you consider building your own? If you have the tools you could build a nice blind in a day or day and a half. I couldn't stomach spending $1500+ on a blind and built a 5'x7' on a 4' tower and it cost me between $400-$500 and feels sturdier and more durable than the expensive ones I looked at. After doing this first one I think I could do others for a bit cheaper by making a few changes to the design.
