Yep they are a PITA in Reno. BIL has big pond at his house in town so neighbors are too close for shotgun/ 22 but the kids give em hell with pellet guns. They chit big everywhere and tear up grass and landscaping. Those huge Canadians are huge birds and hard to kill.

I bought a duck stamp this year just so I could spot and stalk geese with my turkey gun.

It was all I hoped it could be and more.

Many of the birds are now noN migratory, but protected dear the migratory bird treaty act. Which is one of the reasons that their population is now over 5 million in North America.
Which makes perfect sense.

Can say the same things about a lot people in this world as well. You can move to like maybe El Paso, Texas and not be bothered with them at all.

Grew up in suburban NJ and they rested at our local reservoir. It was nearly uninhabitable due to all the slimy green poopand the incessant honking.

I do enjoy watching them fly overhead but they need to stay up.

I used to work in Chicago and we would always dare the new guy to take an egg out of the nests they they would make everywhere. There are very few animals angrier than a nesting Canada Goose.

I do my part by being one of the rare Denverites that does not slow down for geese crossing the road. Unfortunately, not a single one has tried to see if I'm bluffing yet.

There are a ton up here, and we can hunt them. As my hunting buddy says, "Sometimes, when my freezer is really full, I feel kinda conflicted about shooting a doe for meat. One animal I always feel good about killing is a canada goose."

Let me tell you, 2.25 oz of tungsten #6 at 20 yards out of a 3.5" mag is just as good on geese as it is turkeys.
