Anyone bought one of these yet? Thoughts if so? Considering upgrading to a bigger ranger, but can't decide between a 900 crew and the 1000. What made you go with the 1000 instead of the 900?

I went with the 1000 just because of the extra horsepower. Really don't think it's needed though unless you plan on towing something with it a lot.

FYI, they don't make the 900 anymore, there may be a few 2019s left, but going forward they only make the 1000 and 1000XP. The new 1000 is actually less horsepower than the 900.

Yea I knew they went away from 900 but the dealer close to me still has a few. Wonder what the decrease in hp is about??

Property owner on my lease has one and let's me use it. Thing drives like a Lincoln and is really nice. He has not had it long so I'm unsure about maintenance, but the ride and power steering are aces

I just bought the 900 and it's all I want and more. It has more than enough horsepower for anything I would want to do. If you can get a good deal on it then I would go that route.

I've had one for over a year. It's very smooth and quiet compared to the 800/900. Oil changes are easier than my 800.

For those that have the 1000, do you have the new or old body style?

Mines the old style. Bought in Jan of 2018 and no issues whatsoever with it.

Ditch the Polaris, get a Mule PRO-FXT. You won't regret it.

Yea a buddy of mine has one and loves it. I'm not against this idea either.

Does your buddy have a high rack on his mule or ever carry anything in the bed? I have two Rangers a '12 single seat and a '19 crew and never had a single issue. They get plenty of use in south Texas weather and terrain on our ranch. I don't get the mule FTX pro love if you truly need or want a crew, the seat folding and losing half your bed doesn't make sense to me. My single seater has a high rack on it if I ever need the extra seating.

Yeah, the idea that you can have a single or double seat in the same wheelbase is just silly!

I keep mine in the double seat configuration most of the time, still have plenty of room in the bed for most of the things I need it for. Feed bags, generator, whatever. For the times I do need that extra room - boom, about 2 minutes and I have a significantly larger bed. And I don't need 2 mules or an aftermarket high rack seat to do it.

To each his own though I guess.

Yep silly.

I am seriously considering selling my 900 XP crew. It's a 2017. 120 hours or so. Great condition. If you are interested in buying used.

Probably ask around $13,500. It has aftermarket wheels and tires, a windshield and a roof. I will try to find a picture.

Picked up a 1000 xp crew today. Got a good deal on the year end clearance deals on the '19. Rode it around the neighborhood a little tonight. Really good, smooth ride. The ride height of the new 1000 body style is a nice upgrade also.

The ride height on my 2017 HL Crew with 4" portals and 33" tires is better...

Added a metal roof, windshield, winch, small 13" light bar on front bumper and two led cubes on back of roof for bed lighting/reverse lights.

No love for Can-Am here?? My wife and I drove a Ranger 1000 XP and a Defender 1000 XT back to back. Both of us preferred the Can Am without debate

I just don't have a dealer close for service. I hear they're awesome.

I am buying one first of October. Way better ride than ranger.

You might make sure they have the surging and idle issues worked out before you buy. There's a previous thread on OB about it.

Already checked that out.
