I know that everyone loves to bag on the NRA these days, but I enjoy the magazine every month...

So, I'm doing my daily literature assignment, and come to the pic on page 46--the beginning of an article about Winchesters from WW2.

Is it just me, or is the marine holding the M1 carbine wearing an Aggie ring? I'd post pics, but I've never been successful with that.

Edit to add that its the 8/19 issue...

If so, he must be wearing daddy's ring as that ring is worn out.

Maybe so, I thought that the eagle and shield took up a little more of the surface than what my current ring looks like. Also, kicking ass on sandy Pacific beaches could tend to wear down a ring, too!

Can't see the crest, but it could be a Naval Academy ring.

Just visited the Marine Corps Museum(this was an AMAZING museum and only getting bigger and FREE) last month and noticed a picture of a Marine in Korea holding a kitten and noticed he was wearing an Aggie ring, it was clear enough to tell that it wasn't an academy ring.

My dad made sure to rib me and say only an Aggie would wear his ring to the Korean war. At least the naval academy has "working rings" that are harder to beat to hell, and are cheaper to replace.

Not an aggie ring back part is too thin.
