My kids are starting to get into sports which means lots of sitting around at fields. My bottom & my back don't do so well on the hard bleachers & the $5 canvas chairs we have from academy are meh. Any suggestions for a comfortable chair we can easily drag around to games? I'm 5'8" & 150 pounds so I don't need anything massive, just comfortable.

Been there done that - The Bag Chair SUCK! Especially if you are a little vertically challenged like me, hits pressure points an cuts off blood to your legs. We went with the chairs with aluminum frame that fold in like link below. A little more cumbersome to carry but a ton more comfortable!

These are not light but pretty comfortable as they don't let you sink down and provide good support. Buddy had one years ago on a camping trip and picked up a few for myself.

We have several of these. They aren't the easiest to carry around because they don't fold up into a bag, but they are the most comfortable lawn chairs I've ever had.

Only way to go is the rocker chair. If you are a nervous dad when your kid is on the bump, the ability to rock is a game changer.

This chair is the best. Most men want something solid under them that is comfortable and breathes. This chair does that is a a bit wider for us bigger men. It is a good chair for the money. Canvas or tripod chairs are not sturdy enough to last more than a few weekends. Get you a good stadium seat too in case bleachers are a good option for sitting also.JoeCephas1974 said:

If you have events where you have to hike to the venue, I would cross every chair without a shoulder strap off your list. You will discover that your hands will be loaded with tons of other garbage you didn't think you needed.
Does anybody own a $300 folding chair? It's difficult to wrap my brain around that (Unless you found it on the side of the road). Then it's just weird.

The rocker style chairs are easily the best for setting up outside of the bleachers. Another great option is a good quality stadium seat. Complete game changer for us. They fold straight so that you carry like a backpack. Very comfortable:

3. I'd recommend one of these as you can carry it on your back

Look at the Helinox Beach Chair
Cabellas has a blind swivel chair that is ventilated for air flow, adjustable feet, arm rests and holds my 320 lbs great. Since i brought one to the annual dove hunt last year, several buds have one now and i bought my 2nd one last week for backup. $ 150 and best chair ever had. Bit heavy but durable.
Bought this one recently and love it. I thought it was a bit gimmicky at first but it is a great sit and awesome rocker.

Probably not the ultimate chair, but I'm partial to these chairs from Timber Ridge. They are the same sturdy folding director's chair design that you see all over the place, but they are aluminum instead of steel. Makes all the difference in the world as far as portability goes. The downside is that they cost more.
