I'm going to go the other way here.....
I have Smith Thompson and pay about $200 per year all in. I don't have anything fancy, but when my alarm goes off (99% kids or wife set it off), a real person from Texas calls within 30 seconds to check in or call police. When I've called them for customer service, a human picks up right away. They've been great.
I get the piece of mind that cameras bring and I don't fault anyone for getting them, but are they really that effective? I feel like once week someone posts a video on our neighborhood nextdoor with a nice video of some guy breaking into their car or stealing a package in broad day light. Half the time you can't make out their face, half the time it doesn't matter. If you take that great video to the police, I'm sure they say thanks and that's it. I don't totally see the point of it.
