There won't be an overnight confiscation event. There will be decades of inch-by-inch regulation before any real confiscation takes place. By the time it finally does, there won't be many of us left who are actually willing to fight it. And there will be so little sympathy from the liberal brainwashed masses and media, the state will be able to quietly raid homes and kill resisting "offenders" with no public outcry.

Unless conservative states can split off and cleanse themselves, that's how this will end. Not with an Alamo-type last stand.

Sadly, this is what I fear. Part of me hopes we see them really jump the gun in the next decade. They're stupid enough too. They're electing outright socialists and anti-semites to high office. Hell they're legalizing late term and even post birth abortions. These are sick twisted people.

Liberals are evil.

Where have you seen this? I would be VERY interested to read about it. Just a link is fine- not trying to turn this to a politics board thread.

Sadly, you're way off. Texas is almost half liberal now, and youth interest in shooting is rapidly declining. The desire among Texas residents to preserve the Second Amendment has dwindled significantly and will continue to do so as demographics keep changing and the "progressive" cancer keeps spreading.

I appreciate the link!

Yeah I found the same article last night (though i really don't thibknit was on vox, so someone is copying w/out citing). It seems that the bill isn't legalizing post-birth abortions (which by every definition would be infanticide), nor is that anyone's intention. It seems like some extremely careless words by the gov are being taken in a way he didn't intend. I haven't been able to dig up any info from anyone suggesting post-birth abortions.

I don't know that I would agree with that. High school trap and skeet shooting teams are on the rise, at least in my neck of the woods anyway. 4H and team competitions that weren't around 25 years ago when I was in school are now. I think the advent of 3-gun, IDPA and similar types of competitions is bringing an increase in shooting interest and sports.

You may be right about his words ("we'll have to have a conversation with the doc at that pt") being overblown (although I respectfully disagree as he is a pediatric doctor), but in reality, is there much or any difference between killing the baby minutes after birth or when the mother is contracting and about to give birth? NY and VA have gone full psycho with this late term abortion sh**...among many other things. And it is just a way of rebelling against what they have been brainwashed to see as the hateful, bigoted, and fascist "right" (ironically).

Kids still like shooting sports. Access and opportunity are becoming more limited for urban and suburban kids due to population density and cost.

Since you asked:
In my understanding, no- I see no difference. I have spent considerable time researching and writing about about this topic, and my wife is a highly degreed medical professional specializing in postpartum and women's health care. I believe that a genetically unique human baby is viable far sooner than many currently proposed laws do. So my definition of infanticide would occur much earlier than many others- and at least 38 State's Fetal Homicide Laws would agree with me.

My original question was aimed at a poster's assertion that someone had, or was trying to, legalized post-birth abortions- which I had not seen or been able to find. Only this gov's comments seeming to take a bill farther than it reads- but exposing the dangerous loopholes and grey areas that lie within said bill. Which isn't surprising, considering the massive incongruity and loophole in VA's own Fetal Homicide Law (VA 18.2-32.2)

I'm not saying this is condobale or something we should ignore at all. But- perhaps not on the OB.

SECEDE already!!

Let them kill their monster babies, let them hand in their horrible murdering guns, let them watch their economy crumble with higher taxes while they pass out free dollars to so many who so justly deserve it, and watch them become the defenseless lambs they so desire to be.

I'm so tired of people that are so screwed up and want to screw everyone else up too!!!

We need to build a wall alright, along the red river. The hell with these fools!!!

What he is saying (but doing so terribly) is that if you have a breathing non-viable birth, that you don't perform heroic measures to sustain life. Not commit any type of murder. So if a baby is born without a head for instance (this happens and it is gruesome and terrible) you keep the infant as comfortable as possible but don't use breathing or feeding tubes and don't shock when their heart stops. Basically like a DNR for an adult on hospice. IMO to do anything else in such a case is cruel and unethical although I know others may feel differently.
