This is usually the point where I start to root for the shark. What the hell inspires someone to do that?!?

I'm not saying it's smart, but the only reason I'm guessing she felt "safe" was the shark had just gluttoned itself on a dead whale and wasn't hungry(?)

Irwin was killed while riding in a boat when a ray jumped.

He really want doing anything stupid at that point in time, just a freak accident.

Uh, no. Irwin and his crew stopped and got out in chest deep water to interact with a massive one. Got some video of it, then decided to get one more shot of it swimming away from Irwin. It somehow startled and began flailing attempts to strike like crazy. The cameraman said he thought it tried over 100 times. At least one got Irwin in the heart. It was freak because they are docile and don't have a history of killing people, but it was not crazy flying stingray freak

This animal is shark week famous from a few seasons back. Longest, oldest white shark ever filmed. Its basically grandma shark at this point.
