I've used liquid nails or other adhesive and glued it on the interior surface of the panels with pretty good success. Not the prettiest solution, but will help. I use the same approach on box blinds as well.

Note to others. Place PEX tubing [PEX/AL/PEX] in any slab you pour for a shop. Makes it easy to Set up hydronic heating system. Comfort!

I just reread this - i was thinking a paneled overhead door, not roll up. I have seen some blanket type material used and it was ok, not awesome.

The other solution ive seen was simply to use blueboard sheets cut to the size of the door opening and taped in place for cold weather.

ETA: i have also seen folks cover the inside door surface with wax paper and inject spray foam into the voids. Time consuming and typically looks like a bag of mashed anii, but it will work.

The doors are roll up doors. Is there a good way to insulate them?

Roll up doors are tough to insulate and use.

You could put up insulation on the ones you aren't using and reduce the uninsulated surface area.

Shops are rough on heating. High ceilings mean more volume and more surface area to lose heat to the atmosphere. I've always had good results with localized heaters. Just move them to wherever you are working.

After a little more head scratching and standing around staring at my shop, I think I've narrowed it down to these two options:

A propane heater with bottle outside, requires drilling hole though the wall and bottle upkeep, but is probably more efficient.

Or

An electric heater that i can tie into a 30 amp breaker i have for my compressor. In fact, I'd probably just wire a plug into it so i can unplug the compressor and plug the heater in as needed. Something like this:

I think this would supplement the mini split and knock the cold down enough to be comfortable.

What are yalls thoughts?

That's the electric heater I was going to recommend. I had one before I switched to a 480v 3ph heater. It probably lasted 7 or 8 years before it gave out.

Make sure you have enough air exchange if you use propane. If I remember right, a gallon of propane will yield 3/4 gal of water per.

Electric won't be as efficient, but if condensation is a concern, it might be a better choice.
