Same. I got my M44 from Champion over 10 years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was around $150-175. I also got a Norinco SKS for $175, and a M91/30 Mosin for $99.
Although I'm not sure what you mean by the kickstand comment... it's definitely a folding bayonet (unless I missed the joke).

yeah I was joking about the bayonet. When I'm dorking around shooting it with buddies, I stab it in the ground at the line when I'm not shooting, people act like I should take better care of it but I am pretty sure that rifle and bayonet have seen worse!

What's the budget. I picked up the CZ457 Synthetic from Texas Gun Experience in Grapevine for my host platform. It was $419. It's a great little rifle as-is, but I'm planning to modify it I picked up a Bravo Chassis for it and have a 16" fluted Acculite barrel on order from Whistle Pig Gun Barrels.
@ 25yd I'' shooting nickel size groups with my QB suppressor and CCI Quiet with factory set-up, but had some birthday gift cards I need to burn up.

Re-posting. Full disclosure I pulled it down shortly after listing previously, I was giving her a good cleaning before selling and once reassembled I couldn't get it to cycle properly. Sent it to Ruger and they replaced the extractor, put a total of ~60 rounds down the pipe between two different types of ammo and gave it a clean bill of health.
